We provided architectural lighting solutions to our Applelec Projects division to support their recent work with design studio Alter/d to revamp the Trish McEvoy concession stand within the luxury department store Selfridges, London.
Elevating the presence of the high-end beauty and skincare brand, the retail design focused on forms and materials to convey themes of elegance and create tactile qualities. Injecting warmth, style and personality into the space, the concept took influence from art-deco glamour with geometric features and gilded accents. Helping to deliver this, Applelec LED Light Sheet was interspersed throughout the retail design to create eye-catching branding and sophisticated, illuminated product displays.
Prevalent throughout the retail design, Applelec LED Light Sheet was selected in 3000K LED option, where the warm white illumination complemented the gold features of the brand’s colour scheme, further adding a sense of opulence. Heightening the brand’s presence, Applelec LED Light Sheet was integrated within decorative feature piece, such as the stencil cut sign try depicting the iconic New York skyline, which pays homage to the brand’s origin and the vast, billboard style lightbox.
At an impressive 2448 x 877mm, the light panel delivers bright and seamless illumination, further heightening the brand’s presence by creating a commanding and memorable centre piece, which design is repeated throughout the retail fit-out at various sizes to deliver modern and clear wayfinding.
Providing illuminated focus points, Applelec LED Light Sheet was created in a variety of rectangular and oval shapes to create elegant display shelving and pods to showcase the brand’s hero products. Embedded with thermally managed LEDs, the illuminated shelving runs cool to the touch, ensuring the integrity of the heat sensitive products on display is not compromised.
