Energy Calculator
Our Grade A backlighting solutions have numerous sustainability benefits including saving you energy and in turn yearly running costs. To demonstrate this to our customers we have created our energy cost comparison calculators.
Here you can input basic details about how you will be using the solutions, such as how many meters of LEDs you require and the length of time they will be running on a daily basis. Our calculators will then estimate the annual kW/h and its estimated energy cost per year.
You can then compare this to your current solution, if you have one, to see how much money our highly energy efficient products can save you every year.

Sustainability
Lighting the way to a more sustainable future
At Applelec Lighting, we believe that sustainable design is not just a trend, it’s our responsibility. As a UK manufacturer operating in an industry where energy efficiency and material use matter more than ever, we’re committed to reducing environmental impact across our business and product ranges.

Our Award Winning Eco Pledge
As part of the Applelec Group, Applelec Lighting is proud to support the Applelec ECO Pledge, our commitment to influencing four key sustainability pillars: Nature, Climate, Waste, and Manufacturing. This pledge shapes how we work as a company, from the products we develop to the partnerships we form.

Our collective efforts were recognised by Made in Britain, who awarded Applelec the Impact Award for Employee Engagement Campaign of the Year, and shortlisted us for Sustainable Initiative of the Year. These awards celebrate the involvement of our entire team in pushing sustainability forward every day.
"The employee engagement award is for the organisation that has successfully engaged every employee across the business with its sustainability strategy. All three companies on the shortlist have achieved remarkable progress in this area - with Applelec the very worthy winner of this year's award."
Professor Chris Harrop OBE, ESG Strategy Director, Marshalls and Made in Britain Chairman.

Every ECO Order Plants a Tree
In partnership with JUST ONE Tree
Through our partnership with JUST ONE Tree, for every ECO Lighting product ordered, we plant a tree on your behalf. This not only enhances your sustainability credentials, it’s a story your customers will value too.
In addition to this, the Applelec team also used Ecosia as our internal search engine for over a year, further increasing our tree count and positive environmental impact.

Removing plastic from the ocean
In partnership with OCEANHERO
In 2024, the Applelec team took another step forward in our sustainability journey by switching to the OceanHero browser, turning something we use every day into a force for good. For every search made, OceanHero helps recover plastic waste from our oceans through its partnership with Plastic Bank. This plastic is then taken to recycling centres, providing vital income to communities without waste collection systems and helping prevent ocean pollution at the source. Since May 2024, our team has already helped recover over 4000 plastic bottles from the ocean, just by browsing the web with purpose.
